Signal

a family of information sites, each built on its own demand

signaleconomy.co.il

A set of Hebrew information sites under one brand, each in a different field: the world economy, good news, land checks, pensions and savings funds, cyber insurance and small business.

Six sites, Signal Kalkali live with 185 reviewed articles

The challenge

I wanted to build several information sites under one name. Demand research showed the word "Signal" belongs to the messaging app: 8,770 monthly searches for "Signal" and its variants, almost all of them for the app, while "Signal Economy" on its own gets zero. The brand would not bring a single visitor.

What I did

  1. Signal Kalkali (economy): a daily economic briefing in Hebrew for 34 countries, four regions and the world, under a binding source policy: full articles only, market data only from official sources, and any source whose terms don't allow it is out.
  2. Signal Pensioni (pensions): comparisons of study funds, provident funds and pension funds built on open government data, a page per investment track showing where it ranks in its group, and a management fee calculator wired to the data.
  3. Signal Karka (land): a factual report per land parcel from Israel's national planning database: plans, zoning, warning signs, and a bottom line of stop, look into it, or go ahead. No valuation and no promises.
  4. Signal Hiyuvi (positive): good news about Israel from abroad and from home, where every item comes from the body that actually did the thing (a university, a hospital, a city), not from the press.
  5. Signal Cyber and Signal Asakim (business): information sites with inquiry forms on cyber insurance and on everything a small business needs, from opening to monthly reporting.

The decision that made the difference

The name is a label. The demand belongs to the field. Instead of building on a brand nobody searches for, each site is built on the demand of its own field: a fixed second word in the name and the domain, and every page title opens with the words people actually search and ends with the brand, never the other way round. The name only starts working once people know the sites.

What came out of it

  • Signal Kalkali is live on its own domain, signaleconomy.co.il. Its five launch days produced 185 articles that passed review.
  • Signal Pensioni was built with 1,204 pages, from data on 1,051 investment tracks.
  • Signal Hiyuvi went up in preview with 109 full news items and 15 feature stories.
  • Signal Karka, Cyber and Asakim are running as previews.

Start with what you already have

An existing site that does not bring in inquiries, or an idea for a site that is not built yet. A link or one sentence is enough, and on the call I will tell you what I would build, and whether you need anything built at all.

Let's talk

The first call is free. You get an answer by the end of the next business day, Israel time.
